Marker Display Levels |
 |
The Display Level determines the zoom level at which the marker becomes visible.
To prevent marker clutter, and improve the map display for viewers, we recommend that you take some time to consider how you choose to display your markers. Select one main marker for an area to show as the world marker. Then mark a few remote locations from the main marker as national markers. As you zoom in, select a few more regional markers to represent an area such as a town or park you have found. Finally, put the remaining detail makers on the local level.
An example of this organization is as follows: You might place one "world" marker on Washington DC. Then place a few "national" markers on locations like the The Mall, Arlington, etc. Then place regional markers on the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the White House. Finally, place all the detail markers you want on and around regional points.
- world - show on all levels
- national - displays on large state, medium country levels and closer
- regional - displays on small state, county, and small country levels and closer
- local - only displays on city, and closer levels
